PaRappa the Rapper and more to get mobile games
Sony is going to follow in the footsteps of Nintendo’s Super Mario Run by bringing games like PaRappa the Rapper to smartphone.
As reported by Polygon, Sony Interactive Entertainment is converting some of its major IPs to Apple and Android devices in the future.
ForwardWorks, Sony’s publishing house dedicated to mobile games, is developing titles based on series including Hot Shots Golf, Arc the Lad, PaRappa the Rapper and more, starting some time in 2017.
Apparently Hot Shots Golf and PSP title What Did I Do to Deserve This? will be the first two games to arrive for mobile, in spring and summer 2107 respectively on both Android and iOS.
There’s no word on whether they will come to all territories beyond Japan though.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Sony has attempted to do mobile games. It previously tried releasing mobile versions of its games to a limited line of Sony Ericsson handsets with little to no success.
Nintendo’s next mobile game, Super Mario Run, arrives on December 15 exclusively for iOS devices (and coming to Android at a later date).
It is also working on mobile games based on Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing.
