Fortunately, there are countless tips and tricks out there to help you boost your iPhone’s signal.
Many websites, YouTube videos, and even tweets have different tricks to help you out. And now, TikTok’s also showing up for easy tips you can use to boost your signal almost instantly.
How to Boost Your Signal With One Simple Trick
This trick comes from user @scottpolderman on TikTok. With over 1.4 million followers, Scott helps the world improve their iPhone experience, one video at a time.

And now, Scott brought a quick and easy way to boost your signal.
According to the video, all you need to do is turn on Airplane mode on and off on your iPhone.
How do you turn Airplane mode? There are a couple of ways, but the quickest is like this:
- If you have an iPhone with Face ID, swipe down from the top left corner of your screen to open Control Center. If you have an iPhone with Touch ID (a Home screen button), swipe up from the bottom of your screen to open the Control Center.
- Tap the airplane mode icon that should be located near the top left corner of your screen.
- Tap the airplane mode icon again to get out of airplane mode.
Does This Trick Work?
As simple as that. But why does this work? Well, according to Scott, this will force your iPhone to search for a new tower that may give you a much stronger connection.
On paper, it makes sense; your iPhone’s always looking for the best connection possible, so “resetting” the connections could potentially improve your signal with a couple of taps. And many users in the comment section of the video were quick to point out that this trick actually worked for them.
However, as Scott mentions in the comment section, it may not work for everyone. It’ll mostly depend on where you are.
For instance, if you’re at home, you’ll most likely connect to the same tower and get the same signal no matter how many times you try it. This works better when you’re traveling or going to a different place.
In the end, this trick is so easy to do that you might want to give it a shot. It’ll work perfectly if you’re somewhere with a lot of cell towers, but it can never hurt to try it, even if you’re at home.
Keep in mind, though, that constantly searching for new towers to connect to might affect your iPhone’s battery life, so don’t go around trying to find a new connection every five minutes, especially if you’re running low on battery. There’s a reason why your iPhone doesn’t do this automatically.
