Currently, the iPhone 14 takes about a couple of hours to reach a full charge since Apple isn’t all about fast charging the way other companies are. With the new iPhone 15, however, the charging times could be faster than ever, thanks to the new support of a more powerful charger and the new USB-C port.
The iPhone 15 Will Charge Faster Than Ever
There have been a couple of rumors that point out that the iPhone 15 lineup might get a boost in charging speeds.

For starters, we saw a report from 9to5Mac last month claiming that some iPhone 15 models will support Apple’s 35W charger. This is a separate charger that Apple sells for around $60. This charger is primarily meant to charge MacBooks and comes with Apple’s newest MacBook Air, but it might soon be able to charge your iPhone 15, too.
Moreover, there have also been rumors that the iPhone 15 will get a USB-C port instead of Lightning, and if that weren’t enough, there’s also the possibility that this USB-C port will support Thunderbolt, supporting much faster data transfer speeds.
Combine these two rumors, and it seems the iPhone 15 will be the fastest iPhone yet for both charging and copying photos and videos to your computer.
How Fast Would the iPhone 15 Charge?
Since the iPhone 15 hasn’t come out, no one has had the chance to test how fast it will actually charge. With that said, we can have a pretty good guess.
As we mentioned before, the iPhone 14 lineup charges from 0% to 100% in about two hours, and that includes the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which supports a 27W charger.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which supports a 45W charger, can charge from 0% to 100% in just under one hour.
Based on this information, you might be able to fully charge an iPhone 15 with Apple’s 35W charger in just a little over one hour. That’s not the best on the market, but it’ll definitely be a welcome improvement.
It’s worth noting that you can currently use Apple’s 35W charger to charge your iPhone — and a second device at the same time — but it doesn’t actually use the charger’s full power.
The iPhone 15, on the other hand, would be able to make use of the complete power of the 35W charger to boost its charging speeds.
Get Ready for the iPhone 15!
While we don’t know if Apple will actually boost the charging speed on the iPhone 15 line — or if it will be a feature exclusive to the iPhone Pro models — there are a lot of other cool features that we can’t wait to see.
Apple is planning on announcing the new iPhone 15 models this Tuesday (September 12), so get ready.
